The New Normal: What Is Yours?
Have we been sold an inversion?
Let’s just question something for a moment…
Why have we, as a society, agreed that joy, abundance and financial freedom is a dream only a lucky few can have? Why do we see worry, illness, scarcity and never-ending stress as the norm? And why do we view people who don’t live this way as so different?
Shouldn’t this all be the other way around?
Our cultural conditioning and social engineering model a certain way of life to us, and we believe that’s just how it is. From early childhood onwards, we’re taught how ‘normal’ it is to not be free. We go to school so we can learn how to be good employees. We go to work so we can afford to live. We scrimp and save so we can retire at 65 and enjoy our freedom (if we’re not encumbered by health issues). I mean, is that really what life is about? Wouldn’t a more natural state be peace and harmony?
Have we been sold a complete inversion?
Picture this: The time and energy to spend with your family, friends and loved ones. The feeling of being nurtured and energised rather than overworked and worn down. The freedom to work on projects that inspire you and those around you, without compromising your livelihood. The ability to support the communities you’re a part of in ways that you choose.
THIS is what I believe should be normal.
So I ask you, if we’ve been successfully programmed to have a certain view of life, where we all follow the same roadmap and we’re bound by all sorts of limitations, could we also be programmed to have a limitless one?
The answer is yes.
We absolutely can dismantle our old beliefs. We can conquer the illusion of lack and challenge the idea that only a few ‘lucky’ people can be happy and free. We can make different choices in our thoughts, words and actions and we (and only we) can define what we’d like our normal to be.
