The Truth About Fear

I’m a firm believer in fear having its place. It’s a natural evolutionary response and it helps protect us and keep us safe. We should never completely disregard our fear because when it’s in balance, it’s our ally. Fear always has something important to tell us.

The trouble is, when fear is out of balance, it becomes unproductive, unhelpful and can turn us into an anxious mess!

For many of us, our fear has been appropriated and used to manipulate and control us. So what was once a natural response, is now wildly out of balance. For many of us, our fear has been running the show.

Fear in proportion is our ally.
Fear that has been programmed into us is an illusion.

Those who seek power over us, like to take our fear, twist it to their advantage and wield it like a freshly sharpened weapon. Once we’re caught in the loop of fear, it becomes self-perpetuating. The energy of fear feeds on itself until we find ourselves living in a ‘reality’ that is entirely based on fear.

This is why being intentional with what we consume is so important.

If we’re constantly engaging with fear-based content or people who choose to reside in that frequency, we leave ourselves vulnerable to being dragged down there with them. Holding fear in the body requires a large amount of energy and keeps us in a constant state of fight or flight, overworking the adrenals and depleting us. It’s very difficult to feel empowered and make empowered choices when you’re afraid.

For those who seek to control us, this is exactly where they’d like us to be - weak, disempowered, fearful.

But we don’t have to accept that offer.

We can, at any moment, decide to raise ourselves out of the fear vibration and see that the sky isn’t falling after all.Others may try to pull us back down to henny-penny land, but it’s our choice whether we follow them. We can lower our vibration to fear, or we can consciously decide to raise ourselves up towards empowerment, joy and love.

Which one would you rather choose?
